There is this beautiful storefront on the corner of Grand and Myrtle. I was speculating on what it could become and had my very own wishlist going, hoping for something cool.
Instead we got this:

Now I have nothing against Quiznos (except that I never thought the subs were that good, the whole “toasty” thing is way overrated and it’s kind of pricey) but what a waste of a perfectly good location.
Ugh.
On the bright side, I walked past this store which is slated to open on September 4th.
“Who’s Your Doggy”, Premium Pet Food and Supplies, on the corner of Aldelphi and Willoughby Avenue.
Pet owners rejoice!

boooo! i’ve been stalking that site for months, hoping for signs of something great. instead we get a hopped-up version of subway. bah!
lucky that you get the pet store – i want one over on the other side of clinton hill where i live. the walk from target is a pain.
The walk home from Target carrying bags of Iams is NOT fun. I usually wait for the B38 to minimize walking.
Hey Lesterhead- why dontcha have NYC pet or Acme deliver? Couple of bucks as a tip should be worth it.
Also (and I hate to say it) but Iams is really not very good for your dog – full of by-product and ‘meal’ and corn and filler. For a few dollars more per bag why not get your best friend something a little more nutritious? It’ll save you in the long run; longer life and less vet bills. I don’t mean to be critical or imply that you’re not taking care of your dog, I only say this as a true dog lover!
Really! I had no idea about Iams — our family vet when I was little recommended it to us, so I’ve just been using it. What brand do you recommend? (feel free to email me)
Also, I now have a car, so I usually pick up pet food at Fairway when I drive over there.
I say we boycott the quiznos… that spot could and perhaps after a succesfull boycott could be a dope artist gallery or bookstore….Yeah:)
Well I, for one, will not be going to the Quiznos.
(If you couldn’t tell from the post I’m not a fan.)
Unfortunately there might be enough college and high school kids in the area to keep it in business.
On the bright side Planet Pleasure, the P*rn shop, looks to be closed for good. Maybe something cool will open up there.
(You know, like, there’s always something cool next to a White Castles.)
I’m not a quiznos fan either but its better than an empty storefront.
the BARC animal shelter in Willy B delivers to clinton hill- usually within a couple of hours- and the shelters food sales go towards covering the costs of taking care of the animals (which I think they do a great job of)/

Does Who’s Your Doggy have a website?
I don’t think so, as of yet. I will stop by tomorrow and ask them.
Also, BARC is a great organization. I’ve volunteered before to walk dogs and play with cats. A great way to interact with pets without making the lifetime commitment. (even though i have one of each)
Who’s Your Doggy doesn’t have a website–I was in today and chatted with the owner (I don’t recall her name) and mentioned she might think about putting up a simple page with hours, phone, etc. She was very nice… and now I don’t have to go to Kiki’s just to find out they don’t have anything in stock. My cat is happy! Here is the phone number for Who’s Your Doggy:
