The corner of Willoughby that was once a dead end for businesses (between Adelphi and Clermont) is thriving. Joining the welcome pet store Who’s Your Doggy, a new cafe has moved in right next door.

Called Bidonville, the cafe features fresh baked goods from Choice, as well as tasty coffee (your reviews on the coffee are welcome, as I don’t drink it regularly enough to give an intellectual review on it). Such a good spot for Choice muffins and such for people who live west of Choice and don’t want to backtrack in the morning.
The inside space doesn’t look quite finished yet, but I like the rustic look it’s going for. The owner’s friend was working the day I dropped in, and he was incredibly friendly.

Is it open now? Or did you simply get a sneak preview?
I hope it’s successful. There are definitely times when I head to FG with the dogs in the morning and I’m in need of a good cup of coffee and I don’t want to walk with one from home.
Open now!
New cafe now open on Dekalb where real estate office used to be. Patries, coffee, very tiny, quaint. Worry that with Urban Spring and Smooch in 2 block vicinity may be shooting itself in the foot.
Where is this place? Just passed there, didnt see anything saying Bidonville. Any signage or do I have to search for it. All I saw was pet store and I think yoga spot.
It is right next to KIM pilates studio — no sign, just an umbrella and a chalkboard that sometimes has the name on it. As for DeKalb spot, it could work, depending on what they offer, and esp. if they do better than the ridiculous prices at Smooch.
Yes we are sort of reaching coffee shop saturation in the hood. Let see some other stuff.
Agreed Kyle. How much coffee do we need? Where are the imaginative business people? Hair/nail salon, or coffe shop. Thats all we ever see, with an occasional wine shop.
Given what I picked up yesterday I can’t really say that it makes the nabe a better place. Perhaps it was opening day jitters.
Hey LimestoneKid. Sorry to have dissappointed you. We’re committed to providing the very best for our customers. Come on back and let us know how we can do it better. Thanks.
LOL, Arseman makes the coffee? I hope his name says nothing about methods used to brew it!
What is opening up next to Kush restaurant on Putnam off Grand? See French doors and construction but couldnt stop to ask as police were behind me. Anyone know. Looks like, a small establishment. Cafe possibly.Hopefully not another coffee cafe. Also drove on Nostrand Avenue and saw what appears to be a cafe opening up on Nostrand and Clifton Place. I know that is Bed Stuy, but anyone know what that location is?
I went to Bidonville today. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. They said they’ll be brewing their own blends sometime soon.
ok you know what coffee tastes like and whatever. Coffee saturation is like when you have a coffee shop on both street corners because its hard to cross the street. I don’t think its so bad to have a coffee shop every other block or ven every block. Better thana bar ever five feet like in williamsburg. No, Bidonville, don’t survive and grow and serve wine and sell magazines, I’d rather drink budweiser by myself while I read my used copy of “Society and its Discontents” by Freud.
He really gets me.
