One of the LAST train lines to be evaluated by the MTA (shocking, I know), the results are in. The G train received a stellar D+:

For some reason, I thought the G train extension would take a few years, but according to Second Avenue Sagas, it’s actually scheduled for next year (!!). Hopefully this means improvements.
(Thanks to SAS also for this graphic!)

How’d the C train grade?
How’d the C train grade?
I’m not surprised. I’ve lived in Clinton Hill my entire life and the G train has always been sub par. I suppose I have gotten used to it though since the G is my main outlet at Clinton/Washington.
Is it sad that on the weekend, the G train always seems more reliable (as long as its running), than the C?
G train to Church Ave.? Thats only 5 extra stops on the F line. I don’t see that as helping. What they need are to run the G more often so we don’t have to wait 35-45 mins. late at night !
I think five more stops does help–the G will connect with the R at Fourth Ave., and it also means no transfer to Park Slope. That counts! And the grades are a bit harsh. I’d give it about a C overall.
I also think the grades are a little harsh. The G train sucks in that it has a very infrequent schedule, but unlike a lot of other trains, it does run when it’s supposed to run.
Agree with Jennie & T. Overall the G is good we just have to push for more frequent runs and a longer run.
that’s also why I said on a earlier post why I think the area by fulton & washington is like the wild west to me. all that is missing from this picture is a tumbleweed and someone playing ‘dueling banjos’.
they should reroute the damn train so it connects into the city via the L line somehow. now that would be truly be putting our tax dollars put to work!
G train connects to L at Lorimer/Metropolitan already, and the L is over capacity before all the new condos are filled.
I have more problems with the F and the A/C than the G, I take all 3 lines to work. Sometimes I take the L and B61 coming back.
Considering the G does not run into manhattan it is an ok train, but sometimes i prefer when I am left with no choice but to take the shuttle bus, it comes more frequent, other then being overcrowded there seems to always be an alternative way to get home if you choose not to take the G
Ooooo stop complaining you big babies! Thiers alot worse things in the world and even the city to deal with. Stop harpn on the G line…..its NOT as all bad as your all making out to be…hardly in fact….ive never waited more than 15 mins if that and if that your biggest impatience in this city then your obviously NOT true NYrs! go home ya sudo old farts!
