Washington Ave will soon be home to another new hangout. Owner Joseph Falco is working on transforming 37 Washington (which has been operating as a pizza place for the last 14 years or so) into a brick oven pizza spot.
It’ll be called Il Porto, and will offer pizza (brick oven and regular), other menu items, wine and beer, plus sidewalk cafe!
The restaurant will span both pizza storefronts on Washington, and will feature historical photos of the Navy Yard inside.
Estimated opening is sometime in April — just in time for some warm weather First Fridays at RePop and openings at P.E.P.
Pretty cool.

Can’t wait, this is great news.
Sweet!
I love their pizza dn their cheesesteaks.
Will they deliver? That’s what we need–a place as good as Graziella’s that also delivers!
Graziella’s delivers, don’t they? The minimum is $15.
They look like hit-men in the photo.
Graziella’s only delivers till 6:30pm which is kind of a bummer. I’m super excited about a new pizza joint, the one on Myrtle and Hall (i think) is pretty bad.
WOW…this is great news
I stopped by IL PORTO and spoke to the owners who are actually doing the work on renovating the place themselves, they seem really nice… WOW HIGH CIELINGS… im sure that this new spot will spice things up on washington, I CANT WAIT TO EAT THERE.
WHAT A TRANSFORMATON …I DONT KNOW IF ANYONE REMEMBERS THE OLD PIZZA SPOT THAT USED TO BE THERE…BUT LOOKING AT IL PORTO…THE OLD SPOT DIDNT SEEM SO BIG…..THE NEW PLACE LOOKS FANTASTIC
