Received this early sneak peak last week:
Just sending an email about the new store Green Planet on Fulton St. I walked by there today and they were loading in stocks of vitamins & supplements. I peeked in and there does not really look like space for fresh produce or any other fresh goods. Seems to be all packaged stuff, vitamins, drink mixes, cold remedies, etc. I for one am a big consumer of vitamins so I vow to patronize this place. HOWEVER, I am disappointed there will be no fresh veggies! *keeps fingers crossed*
A reader g-chatted me last night with this info:
just wanted to let you know that green planet is open (not fully stocked yet) but it looks great in there!
I hear they also have bulk granola!! I’ll stop by after work to snap some pics.

they have produce.
I am the poster who sent in the sneak peak. Yes I see they now have a small selection of produce! And small cheese packages, yogurt & the like in a small refrigerated section.
They also have an large selection of natural health & beauty products–shampoo, lotion, soap etc.
yeah and that bulk section is very intriguing. all sorts of dried, organic goods. i only took a quick peek when it was half done – looking forward to your review LH.
and the organic milk is cheaper than the met down the block!
what block is it on?
They are on Fulton, between Washington Ave and St James Place. I just got back from my first visit. Here’s a breakdown:
HOURS — A very impressive 8am – 10pm
PRODUCE — Expensive, but varied. All organic. They did a nice job filling the voids one might feel at the Met.
BULK — They have an amazing display of bulk grains like granola, lentils, chocolate beans, dried apricots, etc — this place is golden for this back corner of the store alone.
SPACE — It’s pretty crammed in there (with food, not customers), but you can find what you need without knocking too many things over. The people working there were very nice and told us they were planning to expand the produce section.
OTHER — If you like hemp milk, herbal teas, vitamins, and homeopathic remedies, you will have a field day in here.
All in all a much more exciting use of that space than the “development group” that was in there before them. Show some love if you get a chance!
when i walked by this morning, it appears as though the shelves are now stocked to the brim. and, i too, am very happy about the BULK section :][: 8am-10pm – w o w
anything is cheaper than that rip off MET.
I’m fired up! Will try to get there this weekend.
Definately show Green Planet some love!!
The selection is great! Price on soymilk is more reasonable than the local supermarkets! Healthy and tasty snacks to satisfy a junk food craving too.
I walked in and was suprised to see a friendly face that I know from Park Slope. The owner left his partnership in the Slope to open up shop here in Clinton Hill where we were lacking a convenient health food store. Stop by and show them some love!!
