Did they even reopen since the last notice in the window? Still, they seem not to need the money because they sure take their time getting their act together
the sketchiness surrounding this plays just keeps getting worse.

For crying out loud! They re-opened for what – 2 weeks this time? Please SOMEONE buy this place and make it respectable! It’s a great location. Maybe a wine bar — Stonehome is way to crowded these days.

do we really need another wine bar? what the hood really needs is a place to get decent food, produce, meat, cheese, fish, and flowers. let’s work on getting the staples down good before we add another wine bar, liquor store, laundromat, bodega, cellphone store, pilates closet…….u get the idea.

unlike #7, i feel like the hood has some solid grocery options now. room for growth, but i’m pleased with what we have, esp for us near fulton. even met has been stepping up their game (baby steps…)

I agree with meepa–some of the food depots that have been in the neighborhood the longest are responding to the area’s new needs. Met has come a really long way since I moved in two years ago. They’re clearly listening to people’s requests, and I’ll bet if you asked them, or another grocery store closer to you, for specific products or even general items (ie, flowers), they’d most likely comply. And the more traffic we bring to the existing places, the more likely they are to improve.

I’d think a bar like SODA there would do well. Good space in the back for a movie screen.
I noticed this today while driving by. I agree that they should stay closed… I think they’ve got a rep for being sub-par, so hopefully someone else will buy it and we can all try the new place instead.

As much as I’ve had positive experiences at June (the complete opposite of many posters on this forum) I think it’s about time that they threw in the towel for good.
Let’s get something viable in there.

We have those things in the hood now. How about a laid back bar with delicious pub food. Or a late night (dare I say 24 hour) diner?

the scoop i heard from Charles, the owner of the building and the operator of June, is that he wants to do a grocery store. He has given up on trying to do a restaurant. However this week someone else said that Charles was trying to rent out the space, that he might not want to deal with it anymore…. We will just have to wait and see if he changes his mind again.

L’epecerie sucks! they are rude, overpriced and have very little choices. I hope someone will open a nice grocery there that will put them out of buisness!
He’s renting it out finally cause his own business skills suck to put it frank. That place and one before it were horrible. I’m glad to see it go myself. He keeps firing his staff leaving them in the dark the day before he shuts and thats very unethical. And just so you know he owns the building so he suffers none…problally his business is just a tax write off from rumours ive heard. http://www.myspace.com/thefortgreenewatch

i vote for a bookstore. June was okay but never seemed to get the hang of running a viable restaurant.
Lets be realistic how much money can a small bookstore make to pay the rent for that place. It will
end up closed just like JUNE.
