I noticed this occupied storefront on Myrtle between Washington and Hall recently:
I might dismiss a random storefront like this, but there was something about the pile of books in the window that I really liked.
No official signage, but they did have a xerox taped to the door that lists a website.
Looks like they’re offering a plethora of services, including light moving, tile work and painting, in addition to refinishing and custom cabinetry.
After painting my own bedroom recently (and having it take three exhausting days), you can bet I’m giving them a call when my living room needs a fresh coat.
They earn a minus for the fact that their website kept freezing up my computer (and for the bad music).

Hey everyone!!! Check out the CLICK! Crowd
Curated Exhibition on Brooklyn Museum’s Site and Help Curate From over 300 Photographs!
seriously. It’s like an 15-year-old did their website in 1998.
you might want to virus scan and clean out cookies, temp files and optimize your computer.
that’s the furniture man!!!
Um. I seriously doubt Mr. Spence has a website. He barely answers the phone. I believe this is an upholstery shop which has been a Myrtle Ave. fixture for over 20 years. He used to be on the other side of the street, moved a while back. There is never any sign.
nimrod–do you by any chance have Spence’s phone number? i’m trying to get a hold of him about an upholstery project, and i can’t find his number anywhere…thought i would give it a shot, even if he rarely answers
