A reader tipped me off to the fact that Los Pollitos on Myrtle has mysteriously been renamed!
What gives? I’m pretty sure it’s still owned by the Los Pollitos folks, since the Los Pollitos dessert menu is still hanging in the window. Remember how packed LP was when it first opened?! What’s going on here?

it must be to hide the fact that they have had horrible service (delivery) in the recent past where their delivery people suddenly could not speak english and had no change after taking over an hour to find your apartment because the english-challenged person that took your order did not understand your address to begin with. needless to say, we don’t order from them anymore. too bad cuz their food was good – just that the place was run by morons!
Recently a neighborhood blog reported that it has merged with an Italian Restaurant.
I’ve never had a problem with their delivery service.
Pollitos is overrated and I’m not sad to see it go. When I walk by the one in Park Slope I’m amazed how packed it is..and isn’t there three. Just go to Bonita on Dekalb for some good Mexican.
I went there this past weekend with my husband. I was a little doubtful (I thought the whole Italian/Mexican mix was weird) but we ended up having a great meal! We sat outside which was nice. I got the salmon from the Italian menu and he got the burrito. I mentioned to him that I was going to email you to see if you could visit the restaurant and give your opinion! I guess someone beat me to it. I hope others try it out.
I’ve never had problems with delivery. The food is decent and the outdoor seating is nice. I haven’t been since the name changed.
[...] Los Pollitos has changed its name to La Stalla, but it’s unclear whether the spot has new owners. [Clinton Hill Blog] Forest Hills: The Cheeburger chain opens today. [Forest Hills 72 via Eater] Kew Gardens Hills: [...]
We swore off the place after a failed delivery attempt as well.
lost politos…..ah.
always liked the one in park slope, but since Castro’s is up the block i never see the point of patronizing this location. the food is pretty good, and Estalin is a darling. itali-mex though? weird.
Los Politos is amazing.
any news on the brick oven pizza place on washington by park ave????
Saw it being worked on yesterday.
anyone know what happened to il torchio? was it really bought by savoia?
I’m not sure if it is owned by the people that owned Savoia but it has changed owners. Its open but I haven’t been since the owners changed.
Any word on what’s going in on the corner of washington and park?
Used to go to LP all the time, but swore it off after the last manager was rude and combative, without merit. Skip this place is my advice.
the brick oven pizza place on the corner of FLUSHING and Washington is slated to open by the end of the month. still no word on who is renting the corner space on park and washington, but the redo looks awesome.
Actually it is on the block between FLUSHING and PARK, but closer to FLUSHING.
I ordered stuff to pick up the other day and was completely surprised/shocked that the name had changed. I was a little worried my fish tacos were sitting over in park slope or something.
I’m bummed. Los Pollitos tres is a way better name and I think Italian & Mexican is a strange combo. Also, I thought they had a pretty standard fish taco on the menu but instead I got marinated salmon inside, which despite being good, was not at all what I wanted.
Also, whenever I’ve ordered 2 tacos, I’ve received four and been charged for four. I guess it’s my fault for not knowing that “taco” means two tacos.
Los Politos I feel has been falling off lately. When they first opened they were great! But then I noticed lately service was poor my mojitos looked like something out of a swamp thing movie and the orders were screwed up…This happend 3 times in a row. Now they’re going mex/italian?? Do they have some sort of identity crisis?
Any restaurant that is both Mexican and Italian sounds doomed to me.
Hopefully you guys will give it a chance like I did. The mix of Italian and Mexican made everyone in my family happy, even if it was a strange combo.
I wish them the best of luck!!
strange combo (mexican/italian)it may be, if you have tried their food whatever doubt of yours will vanish. I’ve only ordered from their mexican menu, and everything, and I mean everything, was absolutely divine. The quality beats some of the best mexican restaurants in manhattan, and the price, god bless la stalla, is hardly half of what would be charged in the city. I hope they will not raise their price, though, as so many good restaurants end up doing and I stop going. Until then, I will always be the biggest fan of la stalla.
