The brick-oven pizzeria and sidewalk cafe on Washington near the Navy Yard is chugging along to opening. Several people have emailed me with details on how good it looks inside.
I checked it out on Sunday, and I wasn’t able to see much. Of course, no one was doing any work.
The boys at RePop tell me they hope to be open within three weeks. August is generally a slow time for local businesses, so let’s make sure to check them out when they open the doors!
This is horribly old news, but here is a short piece that Brooklyn Independent Television did on me back in January, where I interviewed the owners-to-be:

Can’t wait for the new pizza place. I hope they deliver (my current favorite, Graziella’s, does not).
Actually graziella’s does deliver, but before 6pm… Not to say that another brick oven pizzeria would be bad… I love me some pizza!
Graziella’s don’t deliver. . .! do they?
i love the video!
I’m excited about the brick oven pizza too!! unfortunatley I don’t think it gets delivered much because it does not sit around or travel very well. A good excuse to get off our fannies and make our way down there. and Lesterhead! watch out Katie Couric here you come!
It looks like this place will be opening up today. I walked by last night and the doors were open and they were having a staff meeting. The place looked good, I’ll be hitting it up this weekend.
BESIDES BRICK-OVEN PIZZA THEY WILL ALSO HAVE REGULAR PIZZA,GRANDMA PIES AND MY FAV.. NUTELLA PIE
Okay, they’re not opened yet. I went in there on Friday and spoke to the owner. Apparently, they’re still doing some work but expect to open this week. I can’t wait.
