The space formerly occupied by Fish and Crustaceans at 901 Fulton is currently being renovated. In its place, Just Taste It, a fried foods establishment will open in its place.
At least that’s what I think the owner said when I poked my head in. She said they were on Twitter, and I couldn’t find a user named Just Taste It, so maybe I misheard (was taking the dog for a walk). Have additional info? They’re slated to open in the next two weeks.

I look forward to the first air conditioner drip on my head as I walk through the door for my first fried whiting sandwich.
BTW, did you notice Suzanne’s Southern opened on the corner of Fulton and Grand where White Lily Cafe used to be? Wonder if its the same establishment just rebranded since most of White Lily’s food was southern…

It’s not Suzanne’s Southern, it’s Samantha’s Southern. May as well be called Sucky Southern though. I tried it a couple of weeks ago and was violently ill about 1 hour later. Then I found out they had several citations. Luckily I only tried 2 side dishes, no meat!! Never again!!
Anyone know what is being built on fulton between classon and claver? I hope it’s a supermarket that has fresh food, or a drug store, or a cheap dry cleaner…
another fried foods place? nooooo! fulton already has several in a short stretch between st. james place & clinton. yikes.
I noticed that the building with the Stevie Wonder quote grafitti on it nr. Fulton & Clinton is being renovated. any word on what’s going there?
@ ab – that isn’t a stevie wonder quote. it always irks me when i walk past that building and see it there. it’s actually a scripture.

Hello everyone, I am the manager at the new restaurant Just Taste It. We are not going to serve only fried foods. In addition to fried fish we will also serve baked fish (tilapia with mango salsa), roasted chicken and 100% angus burgers with multiple topping options. We will also have turkey burgers and specials of the day such as lasagna rolls, Shepard’s pie and bbq ribs. And don’t worry, you will not have to dodge air conditioner drips when entering. The picture shows us still under construction so please be patient. We have had some unforeseen setbacks and will be opening as soon as we are able to. We will keep you posted….

I, for one, am excited to see the full menu and try it out when it opens. I am in the opinion that you can never have enough delivery places close by!

Just Taste It is very very good, and has great combo of comfort food and healthy options. I live around the corner and have been there at least 15 times since they opened, always reliable in quality of their food.
