This just in from a reader about an alleged shooting in Fort Greene:
There was a shooting in front of Provisions (Fulton & S. Portland) about an
hour ago. Ralph said a bunch of teenagers have been mugging people in the
neighborhood. And apparently this time their “victim” pulled out a gun and
shot them. No idea how accurate this is (other than there is a swarm of cops
out there).

I was coming from Atlantic Terminal on my bike up Hanson Place just has this happened. There were already groups kids all around the neighborhood from Atlantic Ave to Fulton as well as plenty of undercover police. Seemed like something preceded this that brought people to Fulton.
I was at the Ethiopian place on the block when it happened. It sounded like two shooters (two shots almost simultaneous). My impression was that it was a group of teens that did the shooting. There were multiple groups running back and forth. Two teens were injured. I saw one of them clutching his abdomen, being held up by his friends, but didn’t see the other.
Gothamist newsmap has three “Shots Fired” at Rockwell and Lafayette, Fulton and Lafayette, and S. Portland and Fulton and a “Double Shooting” at Hanson and S. Portland.
My wife and I were walking down Hanson Place towards the intersection of Hanson and Flatbush when we heard two shots. This was after the incident on Fulton. There were lots of people out, and many high school students. It must have been about 8:45 or so. People began running from the scene and screaming. Not sure if anyone was hurt. Did anyone else see this? Or know more about what happened? It looked like it was on the corner of Hanson/Ashland/Flatbush.
If the teens got shot for mugging, then GOOD!!!!
