Back in 2006, readers were less than pleased when a Quiznos opened on Myrtle Avenue. (And yes, CHB has been publishing since 2006!) We had all hoped for a non-chain.
They’ve since closed.

A source tells me that Barking Brown will be opening a second location there in order to split up their products (clothing and accessories).

Their current store is located at 468 Myrtle between Washington and Hall.

Do they sell anything that does not seem like it was made in an Asian sweatshop?
@Paula
Can you say anything about local businesses that won’t make you sound like a total jerk? Or would you be happier if it were another crappy chain restaurant?

Barking Brown is a wonderful store! I’m glad that they’ve been successful enough to open a second location.
Urethra, I think it’s a perfectly relevant issue to wonder where the goods that are sold in our “local” businesses came from.
Barking Brown carries one of my favorite NYC-made jewelry lines, by Erica Weiner.

Woo hoo! GO MYRTLE, GO MYRTLE, IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY
asian sweatshop? you are so lame/ignorant- just because they are “asian” they are Korean- and just because something is made in asia- does it have to be made in a sweatshop? go shop at the fulton mall or at daffys and quit dissing people’s hard work and contribution to the community.
@Paula
Wondering and implying without facts to back it up = two different things. You did the later.
Paula, please don’t tell me you wearing all handmade staff from local tailer or shoemaker.
