Recently, I downloaded an iPhone app called Trees Near You, which allows you to see what kinds of trees grow on NYC streets. Today, I learned that Waverly Ave between Lafayette and Greene is home to a few London Plane trees. These trees’ leaves, combined with the Maple leaf, make up the Parks Department logo!
