Every now and then, I get on a train that has a very enthusiastic conductor. It’s nice to not only hear the announcements, but to also get a little something extra.
My neighbor sent me a link to this very jovial G train conductor making station announcements at 4am, which is pretty amazing. Have you ever been on his train?
I haven’t ever heard this guy (I can safely say I have never, ever ridden the G at 4am), although I do usually end up on the same morning C train and recognize the conductor’s very specific pronunciation.
Do you have a favorite local train conductor?

Aha, I think know the C train conductor you’re speaking of. I’ve definitely ended up on that train a few mornings in a row lately.
One time I was riding the Q and this guy seriously sounded like Tay Zonday (that guy that sings Chocolate Rain)!
Otherwise my fav. G train conductor is the one that holds the train for me when I’m running down the Bedford-Nostrand platform!
ya i’ve been on this guys train at least once and me and my room mate were just like amazed
I once rode a 7 train and the conductor said “Willets Point Shea Stadium. Home of the New York…Losers.”
I thought that was funny and considering the Mets were bad that season, I couldn’t argue the guy’s point.

When I used to live uptown and rode the
a train there was a male morning downtown
conductor that always touted his train as
“the downtown a experience.” I loved that guy
Yep, I’ve had the pleasure of being on that conductor’s G train a couple of times before. Does seem to be a late-night conductor — wish he were around for rush hour.
It’s kind of cool to hear a familiar voice in the mornings as you trek to work, especially at 5:30am on the A train.
teen memories: Nothing beats hearing the conductor say “If you don’t stop, I’m gonna come back there and beat your ass down”, after we broke in the door to the conductors compartment in one of the last train cars and we started blabbing stuff over the trains PA system…. ahh 80s memories.
The Conductor on the G is Dave. He is super nice. If you sit in the last car, he’ll actually come out talk to you between stops.
The link doesn’t work.
I never met any nice Conductors? where?
